The three standard models are available as wood-burning units. Shaker grates may be added, necessary for coal-burning, and the units may be purchased in corn-burning models. The corn models will also burn wood, and can burn any of the pelletized fuels in place of corn; such as wood pellets, or compressed biofuels. The fuel and air ratios are adjustable to accomodate the fuel types. The wood units can be purchased "corn-ready", meaning that the firebox weldment is prepared to accept a later add-on of the running gear. Our HeatSource1 units are great pieces of equipment, but they don't perform miracles! The owner needs to understand how the moisture content of the wood (curing) affects wood-burning, and that different tree types provide wood that varies tremendously in its btu (British Thermal Unit) content.
